Rising from the Depths: Alex Wolfe's Epic Entrepreneurial Saga

Millionaire, Mushroom Expert, Pilot, and Former Oil Rig Worker Tells All

I got the opportunity to sit down with Alex Wolfe, a serial entrepreneur with a killer mindset.

Forget the clichés, Alex brings a fresh and balanced perspective to the table.

His story isn’t as normal as most people, but hey, the most successful people tend to be the most strange 🤷‍♂️

Lighting the fire 🔥
Early Life and Kickstarting the Career:
Alex's journey kicked off with him flipping burgers at 10 while his buddies played hockey.

Those early lessons in work ethic and responsibility laid the groundwork for his hustle.

Fast forward to a pilot career, globetrotting, and soaking in life's adventures.

His first time 💝
Dabbling in Entrepreneurship:
In '09, Alex took the plunge into entrepreneurship with an aviation-based gig.

The lessons learned from that venture paved the way for its eventual sale to a competitor.

After a stint back in the cockpit, the entrepreneurial bug bit again.

Cannabis Triumph and Beyond:
In 2017, Alex spotted a goldmine in the cannabis world, founding a company that skyrocketed into one of the globe's top players.

This success opened doors to more ventures, including diving into the CBD scene.

Circadian Wellness and Eons:
Health is wealth, am I right? 💰
The adventure continued with Alex birthing Circadian Wellness, a haven for health and wellness solutions.

Enter Eons, a brand on a mission to shake up the game with mushroom-infused innovations, tackling modern-day challenges like sleep, anxiety, and productivity.

Fears, Challenges, and Taking Flight ✈️:
We're talking fear – Alex's fear of heights, to be exact. Confronting it during a flying lesson at 17 unlocked a fearlessness that fueled his entrepreneurial journey.

From following aviation rules to smashing them in the entrepreneurial world, Alex spilled the beans on breaking down hierarchy barriers.

Flipping the script 🔄
Rough Patches and the Climb Back:
In 2015, Alex found himself drowning in debt, grinding in the harsh Alberta oil fields.

Sleeping on a basement floor, he flipped the script with a lifestyle overhaul, conquering the nightclub scene and circling back to aviation.

Talk about a turnaround!

His secret sauce
Energy Vibes and Positive Moves:
Alex's success secret? The dance between luck and grind. He spilled the tea on his gratitude routine, highlighting the game-changing power of positive energy on personal and professional wins.

Choosing positivity and trusting in his luck, Alex rewrote his story and snagged major success.

Conclusion:
Alex Wolfe's journey from the grind to entrepreneurial glory screams resilience, positive vibes, and facing challenges head-on.

Understanding the Nuts and Bolts 🔩:
Decoding the Circadian Symphony: Your Ultimate Guide 🧘:

Alex spoke about the circadian rhythm and how he uses it to super-charge his day, but what is it?

Basically, cells in our body move based on environmental signals, shooting messages to the brain about whether it's time to go to sleep or to be awake.
Its like a day-night clock, but inside of you🌗 .

Hormones like cortisol and melatonin take center stage, pulling the strings of sleepiness and alertness.

And they've got backup – leptin, insulin, vasopressin, and acetylcholine – all part of the circadian rhythm orchestra, alongside metabolism and body temperature.

Age-Related Shuffle:
As we grow older, the circadian rhythm throws some curveballs our way. Babies start with a wonky rhythm, leading to sleep chaos.

But as kids mature, the rhythm finds its groove, giving them a consistent sleep routine.

Teens might hit a rough patch with puberty's hormonal rollercoaster, causing a sleep phase delay.

Eventually, as adulthood knocks on the door, the circadian rhythm usually settles into a more predictable routine.

Disruptors in the Rhythm Mix:
Now, let's talk about the troublemakers messing with our circadian groove:

1. Too many late nights😴
2. Doom scrolling past bed time
3. Jet lag plays time zone tricks on you
4. Medicine side effects messing with the rhythm (Diet, exercise, etc..)
5. Lifestyle choices that make you a night owl or an early bird
6. Mental health rollercoasters
7. Head injuries, brain quirks, or memory struggles
8. Just plain bad sleep habits

Correcting the Circadian Rhythm:
Addressing a disturbed circadian rhythm involves adopting corrective measures:

1. Follow a consistent daily routine (There's a CEO morning routine in the interview 🤷‍♂️)
2. Create a supportive sleep environment with proper lighting and a comfortable mattress
3. Enhance wakefulness by spending time outdoors during the day 🌤️
4. Within the first 5 minutes of waking up, go outside. Seeing the natural light tells our caveman brain it’s time to wake up, even if you can't see the sun or it’s foggy. (This trick doesn’t work through a window, open it 🪟)
5. Avoid late afternoon or evening naps
6. Steer clear of nicotine, alcohol, or caffeine in the evening
7. Incorporate regular exercise into your routine
8. Power down electronic devices when it's time to sleep (Or put the night-shift/ blue-light filter on 🌃)

Insights from Patrick Bet-David 🧐
How to Find a Great Business Partner:

Alex started his aviation business with a business partner (which they sold to their biggest competitor), so its safe to say that having someone with you along the way can help in more ways than one 🤝.

You might have come across people who possess talent, skills, and connections, but lack essential character traits like honesty or teamwork.
So, how do you prioritise these qualities to decide if someone is the right fit for your business?

In a video by Patrick Bet-David, an experienced entrepreneur and CEO, he outlined his approach to evaluating potential partners. Here's a breakdown of the key factors and how to assess them effectively.

Use this chart as a reference to what im about to say in this guide
👇

1. Character
This is fundamental. Patrick categories individuals based on their character, ranging from low to high integrity.

- Low (0-3): These individuals may lie, cheat, or prioritize personal gain at any cost.

- Moderate (4-7): While they may be selfish, they're generally honest about their intentions.

- High (8-10): These individuals are fair, honest, and collaborative, making them ideal partners.

2. Trust
Trust is earned over time and varies depending on your relationship with the person.

Stranger - Acquaintance - Friend - Running Mate:
Trust levels can evolve based on familiarity and experience with the individual.

3. Work Ethic
Assessing work ethic is crucial to ensure alignment in commitment and effort.

The 4:59 Club:
Individuals who clock out promptly at 4:59 may lack the drive needed for success.

Sprints of Hard Work:
While they may put in bursts of effort, consistency may be lacking.

 Obsessive-Driven Commitment
These individuals exhibit unwavering dedication and are invaluable assets.

4. Vision and Buy-In
Evaluate whether potential partners share your vision and are fully committed to the venture.

Hater, Doubter, True Believer:
Determine their attitude towards the proposed vision.

Small Thinker, Average Thinker, Big Thinker:
Assess their capacity for innovation and ambition.

5. Competency
Amateur, Experienced, Expert:
Consider their level of expertise and experience in their field. Assess their skill level and its potential impact on your business.

6. Rolodex and Contacts
Evaluate the breadth and depth of their network, which can open doors to opportunities.

Limited to Broad, Specialized to Global:
Consider the reach and influence of their connections.

Navigating Trust Dynamics:
Assessing trust becomes particularly complex when dealing with superiors, colleagues, or direct reports.

Understand the dynamics of trust within these relationships, it’s crucial for effective collaboration and decision-making.

Putting It All Together:
Create a scoring system based on these criteria to objectively evaluate potential partners.

Aim for a total score of 60 or above for optimal compatibility. Assess your supervisors, colleagues, and direct reports using the same criteria to optimise team dynamics and decision-making.

Finding the right business partner requires careful consideration of multiple factors beyond skill and connections.

By prioritising character, trust, work ethic, vision, competency, and contacts, you can identify partners who align with your values and goals.

Utilise a systematic approach to evaluation to make informed decisions and foster successful collaborations.
